The other Friday, some weeks ago, I woke up as usual, prepared my morning coffee in a to go mug, put on my back bag and off to school. It was the beginning of spring! Beautiful weather, amazing sun, suddenly i’m in greyhound bus on my way to Toronto.. ditching it all!
I should have this attitude more often. Obviously I am not now, or I wouldn’t be writing this.
Anyways, this time it wasn’t just wandering in downtown, we went to far east (well not so far). But just walking aimlessly, pretty much like my research. To cut it short and go back to my work, it was there, Rooster cafe’, away from all the fuss in downtown. I loved it. Oh and the cappuccino tasted great too!
The view of downtown Toronto from the east, just in front of the cafe’ =D

Ah, Rooster’s cafe! You’ve actually been there. That’s awesome. We need to go there together some time:D This place has been in the local ‘metro’ newspaper for some time now because its owners refuse to remove some graffiti off one of their walls, or something like that. Yeah, I know, it didn’t sound like news material to me either. Hmph.. Canada. lol.
We should go there insha’Allah:)

It’s funny you mentioned the cappuccino because that’s what I ordered the first time I was there. I felt it had a “burnt” taste to it, which turned me off. But months later I had occasion to join a friend who suggested we meet here. I again ordered the cappuccino and was amazed at how delicious it was. I have since returned, and again was very pleased. We can all have an off-day and clearly I did Roosters a disservice by staying away so long. It will become a favourite now.

I can relate to that! Many good coffee shops go through ups and downs in the quality/taste of their espresso-based drinks. I believe this goes to different factors, one of them is the change of the baristas they hire. Another thing, is the change of their beans from time to time, either from different coffee farms or just different roasts, this change will be perceived differently due to various personal tastes.
yeah, I liked Rooster café ! I’ve only went there once though 🙂
Thanks for visiting, Melanie, and sharing your experience 😀
