Today morning on my way to school I saw that the Dake restaurant sign finally reads “now open”. And yes, today after the school, we tried it!

Dake is a new addition to KW Japanese restaurants.

It is specious and chic!. The restaurant offers a wide variety of Japanese dishes and Korean BBQ. The menu clearly describes the dishes. We had Tempora seafood (shrimp, white fish, and salmon each one piece), Miso soups, and seaweed salad for appetizer. We had three Maki rolls: 1) baked salmon roll, 2) young roll, and 3) crispy crunch roll.

Tempora seafood:

taste: good
price: high
portion: small

Miso soup:

taste: good
price: good
portion: good

Seaweed salad:

taste: good
price: moderate
portion: good

Young roll:

taste: good
price: moderate
portion: 8-pieces

Backed salmon roll:

taste: average
price: moderate
portion: 8 pieces

Crispy crunch roll:

taste: good
price: high
portion: 8 pieces

For what we had, we paid close to 70 CAD. The restaurant offers a nice and classy atmosphere and it is a nice addition to downtown Kitchener. With more Japanese restaurants in KW region, one should expect more competition and better food/service quality.
